With traditional methods of manufacturing EVA low viscosity elastomers with an vinyl acetate (VA)-content of 40-45 % have been produced. The aim now was to obtain an elastomer with higher heat resistance combined with a high resistance against oil. At the same time the mechanical properties had to be improved. By means of a new technology novel high viscosity elastomeres were developed.
