Kraton boosts capacity of Cariflex isoprene rubber

Kraton has completed its investment projects to boost the capacity of Cariflex isoprene rubber. At its manufacturing site in Belpre, OH, USA, the company has converted a plant for the new solid IR capacity. The formal inauguration was on 20 September 2011. This production replaces the capacity from the Pernis, Netherlands, facility that was closed in 2009. Kraton also completed an IR latex expansion at its plant in Paulinia, Brazil, which increased production by 30 %. Furthermore, the company anticipates a new capacity addition at its Kashima, Japan, facility in about two years.
