DuPont: Hytrel based on renewable resources

One of the particular highlights of the DuPont exhibit will be the presentation of an extensive portfolio of renewably-sourced polymers. Among others, DuPont has a “green” Hytrel grade in its portfolio, Hytrel RS, which contains 35?–?65 % renewably-sourced material and is said to provide the same performance characteristics of original Hytrel.

Other materials based partly on renewable resources are Sorona EP, which is said to exhibit moulding characteristics similar to high-performance PBT, and the family of Zytel RS long chain nylons – initially consisting of Zytel RS polyamide 1010, which is 98 % renewably-sourced, and Zytel RS polyamide 610, which is more than 58 % by weight renewably-sourced.
