Müller Kunststoffe: New halogen-free TPEs

Müller Kunststoffe will exhibit together with other Rowa Group companies. The company announced that one focus will be on a newly-developed standard range of improved, flame-resistant halogen-free TPE formulations. Since years Müller Kunststoffe produces halogen-free flame retardant Lifoflex compounds. According to UL 94 they achieve class VO with a minimal test piece dimension of 3 mm.

Now the Lifoflex standard series UV Flam 600 is marketed. These halogen-free compounds are suitable for extrusion and injection moulding processes and show optimised processing qualities. An additional standard series – Lifoflex UV Flam 700 – will be marketed in the near future. With this series a UL 94 VO classification can be achieved with test piece dimensions of 1.6 mm. There are currently 50?–?90 Shore A extrusion and injection moulding types available that are able to meet these requirements.

Another focus at Müller will be on new halogen-free flame retardant products for the railway industry that have successfully passed relevant tests and certification steps.

Müller also supplies materials that combine electrical conductivity and flame retardance for special E & E applications. The company has a long experience with TPEs, TPUs and soft PVCs. Furthermore, it offers colour and additive masterbatches and the Rowa Care antimicrobial products.

Müller Kunststoffe will present a paper at the VDI TPE Expert Forum on 26 October in Düsseldorf about sense and non-sense of discussions around harmful substances in the plastics industry.
