Multibase: Silicone-based solutions

SiE and TPSiV are silicone-based thermoplastic elastomers that provide a balance between the benefits of silicone (soft-touch, fluidity, resistances) with those of elastomers and polyolefins. TPSiV is a patented technology containing no plasticisers and making the material particularly advantageous for medical, personal care or sanitary applications.

The siloxane masterbatch material range delivers innovative formulations as additives in polyolefins or rubber. The benefits are a reduction in the coefficient of friction and an improvement in the surface properties in general.

Multibase also supplies general purpose TPEs. The portfolio offers different hardnesses (from 0 Shore A up to 45 Shore D), with a multitude of various technical properties and colours (natural, black, translucent, transparent). Multibase furthermore announced that it has new products for applications in the personal electronics markets.

Already implanted in Saint Laurent du Pont, France, in Daman, India, and in Copley, OH, USA, Multibase opened in May 2010 a production plant in Zhangjiagang in China. This is the company’s fourth production site.
