C. H. Erbslöh: Polyols and additives portfolio

The German distributor C. H. Erbslöh Europe SE from Krefeld will present its portfolio of additives and modifiers from renowned producers at K 2010. Renewably-sourced castor oil forms the basis for the multifunctional polyols from Vertellus.

These include the Polycin grades, which provide the producers of PU systems with possibilities to tailor specific properties such as chemical resistance or elongation to application-specific requirements of the processor. Paricin polyol grades act as lubricants which quickly migrate to the surface of the material, thereby enhancing the assembly properties of EPDM elastomer components, whilst Flexricin, which acts as a highly-efficient plasticiser, improves the elasticity of PU and elastomer systems.

Catafor antistatic agents from Rhodia have been specially developed for use with PU. Normally, just 2 – 3 % of the overall polymer weight is enough to reduce surface conductivity to values of under 107 – 1011 ohm/square. When dissolved in the polyol fraction, the additive delivers a permanent antistatic effect in PU foams, micro-cellular and solid PU elastomers. Depending on the grade, Catafor antistatic agents are suitable for use at temperatures up to 350 °C as well as for rubber, TPU, EVA, PET, polyolefins, polystyrene, ABS, PVC, etc.

Further highlights include modifiers from DuPont and functional fillers from R. T. Vanderbilt.
