According to the company, the so-called long-life diaphragms can increase the service lives of the units in which these components are installed by up to a factor of three – as compared to plants with conventional acryl nitrite butadiene rubber (NBR) components.

New waterproofing system for safer bridge decks

BASF Pozzolith has launched a new polyurethane-based waterproofing system whose improved adhesion properties are said to help ensure safer bridge decks. The new system, developed in Japan, is a modification of the established Conibridge System, which has been used successfully for more than 30 years in Europe and complies with the German Federal Institute of Road Affairs standard ZTV-BEL-B Teil 3. Focusing on the improvement of adhesion property, the new system has achieved compliance with the national Nippon Expressway Company Ltd. (Nexco) waterproofing system standard for bridge decks as of July 2011.
