For more than 45 years now, KraussMaffei has been active in the area of processing polyurethane and has been building machines and systems for this purpose. The kickoff for processing polyurethane at KraussMaffei took place in 1967. The company was active on the market as a machine supplier just one year later.

Cytec Industries Inc. will sell its Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSA) product line to Henkel for a price of USD 105 million. According to Cytec, full year 2011 sales for the PSA product line were USD 94 million.

Coim inaugurates R & D centre

Call for entries: CPI Polyurethanes Innovation Award 2010

The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council has announced a call for entries for its 2012 Polyurethane Innovation Award. The award winner will be announced during the 2012 Polyurethanes Technical Conference, which runs from 24 – 26 September 2012 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta, GA, USA. Nominations for this year’s award must be received by CPI no later than 29 June 2012.

Bayer holds third contest for technical papers in the urethane CAS sector

Organised by Bayer MaterialScience, this third two day event, held in Guilin, China, has continued to gain popularity among researchers and students in the field of coatings, adhesives and specialities materials. Close to 100 submissions were received among which the judging panel chose the top 15 papers for the final.

Dow to close TDI plant in Camaçari, Brazil

Dow Brazil, a subsidiary of Dow Chemical, will close its TDI plant in Camaçari, state of Bahia, Brazil. The company says the decision is the result of extensive evaluation of the facility’s long-term competitiveness and is aligned with its EH&S goals.
