Chair made of recycled PET is the Top Winner of the 2nd International Plastics Design Competition at NPE2012

The 111 Navy Chair, a replica of the modern design icon of the 1940s is the top winner of the prestigious International Plastics Design Competition (IPDC) sponsored by SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association. The competition attracted 32 product entries whose details and images were posted online many weeks prior to NPE on the IPDC site at www.plasticsdesign.org. A panel of nine judges evaluated the entries in advance of NPE2012 and in a special exhibit at the show itself. In addition to awards presented by the judges, there was a “Peoples’ Choice” award based on online and at-show voting open to anyone in the industry.

New HyTemp grade improves hose extrusion performance

Zeon has added a new grade of HyTemp to its polyacrylate rubber series. Intended for use in charge air cooler hose for turbo diesel or turbo gasoline applications and other automotive parts, HyTemp AR212XP is said to offer better polyacrylate extrusion performance, while bringing the same level of heat and fluid resistance of Zeon’s HT-ACM elastomers — at greater than 50 % faster extrusion rate.

The new technical centre has been officially inaugurated during the HF Mixing Days, 16 – 17 February 2012 in Freudenberg.
