OuterWet PU Sprühtechnik - Ein kostengünstiges Verfahren um dünnwandige Teile zu schäumen und zu verstärken

von Barry Pile, Christian Cairati, Piero Corradi, Alberto Bonansea

The necessity to reduce the costs of production to increase competitiveness in the market, providing high quality standards, involves the development of increasingly automated industrial processes with raw material savings and the use of more economic systems (moulds, presses and dosing units).

The back-foaming process, named Cannon OuterWet, uses a combined technology i.e. multiple layer spraying using short glass fibres to perform the reinforcement of plastic non-structural aesthetic pieces with thin walls, e.g.: bath-tubs, shower trays, items for agricultural and earth moving machinery, etc. This back-foaming system does not require the compound pressing or the use of moulds.
