Cytec to sell PSA product line to Henkel
Cytec Industries Inc. will sell its Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSA) product line to Henkel for a price of USD 105 million. According to Cytec, full year 2011 sales for the PSA product line were USD 94 million.

Polymax selecting sites for new TPE compounding facility in the US
Polymax Elastomer Technology Co. Ltd, a major Chinese TPE compounding company based in Nantong, announced at NPE2012 in Orlando, that it is currently busy selecting sites and determining plant opening dates for a new TPE production in North America. Exact dates and timing were not given. The plans to build the new US facility have been announced in 2010 already.

SAUDI ARABIA: Kingdom’s petrochemical earnings to grow despite weakness in demand
NCB Capital, Saudi Arabia's major wealth manager, expects continued growth in the petrochemical sector's earnings in 2012, though at a slower pace. In a new report, NCB Capital highlighted that despite the anticipated weakness in demand and prices of petrochemicals, the sector's earnings are expected to be supported by the full year contribution from Saudi Kayan and Sahara's Al-Waha plants, as well as the prevailing feedstock advantage.

SO.F.TER. installs new lines
The Italian compounding specialist SO.F.TER. announced the purchase of new equipment which increases the overall production capacity of engineering plastics by 30,000 t/y. The extruders are supplied by Icma San Giorgio and are intended for installation in the Forli, Ferrara and Silao (Mexico) sites. They will enable the group to strengthen its presence in the automotive and household appliances sectors and also to consolidate the company role as a global supplier.
