KOREA (SOUTH): Hankook Tire supplies high-performance tire to BMW X5

Hankook Tire, South Korea's largest tire maker, announced on 27 November 2013 that it will supply its ultra-high-performance tire Ventus S1 Evo2 SUV to BMW for its new X5 model.

The Ventus S1 Evo2 SUV, which will be supplied for newly-released BMW X5, is a high-performance tire that is developed exclusively for SUVs (sport utility vehicles) with dynamic sports functions.

By employing the latest silica compound, the tire model reduces rotational resistance and improves fuel efficiency. With a structure that maximizes the contact surface of the tire on the road in a driving mode, the Ventus S1 Evo2 SUV improves the safety on rainy roads, while strengthening the road contact capabilities.

A Hankook Tire official said, “Considering that the share of SUV segment in the global auto market has been increasing, it is meaningful for us to supply our latest tire to the BMW X5 that’s one of the world’s best premium SUVs.”
