BELGIUM: Wood named program management partner for Ineos' PC project
Ineos has appointed Wood as program management partner for its planned ethane cracker and world-scale propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit at its site in Antwerp, Belgium. Under the contract, which is effective immediately, Wood will oversee the execution of the EUR 3 billion petrochemical complex for the duration of the project. Value of the contract was not disclosed.
Based on McDermott's Lummus Catofin technology, the PDH unit will have a nameplate capacity of 750,000 t/y of polymer-grade propylene. Commissioning is expected in 2023. The complex will be co-located with Ineos' existing polymer producing sites in Europe and will be connected via pipeline to several of its ethylene and propylene derivatives units in the region.
