Vietnam exported 341,000 tonnes of rubber in the first nine months of this year, grossing 426 million USD, according to the Viet Nam Rubber Association.The figures surpassed yearly targets by 35 percent in volume and 48 percent in value, the association said.
By the end of this year, Viet Nam's rubber exports are estimated to reach 550,000 tonnes, up 22 percent from 2004, the association said, citing improved growing techniques, varieties and management, enlarged rubber areas and increased demand as major factors behind the solid performance.
The association also said that the exports of rubber wood furniture reached 83 million USD in the first nine months of the year and are forecast to increase to 100 million USD this year. Meanwhile, exports of rubber products are predicted to reach 73 million USD this year.
