Viet Nam's plastic sector has set a target to earn
over 1 billion USD from plastic exports in 2010,
according to the Viet Nam Plastic Association.
To reach this goal, plastic producers will concentrate
on two key products: packing and high-tech goods,
especially bags, canvas, plastic tubes, stationeries,
cable parts and household utensils.
They will also produce self-decomposing packing
products for exports.
To expand export markets, enterprises should pay
attention to advertising their trademarks and
products, as well as directly penetrating into
importers' distribution systems, advised the
They also need to organise trade promotion activities,
exhibitions and fairs to seek markets and foreign partners.
Besides key markets such as the EU, the US and Japan,
the producers should keep a keen eye on other
potential markets like Africa, China, Russia, Eastern
Europe, and Latin America.
