Goodyear starts customer satisfaction program on some Eagle RS-A tires
AKRON: A cosmetic sidewall cracking problem has led Goodyear to begin a customer satisfaction program on some Goodyear Eagle RS-A passenger radials, size P245/45VR18, that were original equipment on Nissan model Maxima.
The 2004 model year was most severely affected, according to the tire maker. The sidewall rubber compound caused the cracking, but that is not part of the tires´ load-bearing or handling features and has no effect on their safety, Goodyear said. The company has sent service bulletins to all Goodyear and Nissan dealers, and will replace all the affected tires free of charge until Dec. 31.
