Biesterfeld: Expanded polyurethane team
Biesterfeld Spezialchemie announced that two colleagues have joined the ranks of its polyurethane team to help them handle the continued growth in the PU market and ever more complex customer demands: Robert Geffken has taken on the role as polyurethane Market Manager since April 2019, and Alexander Bär has joined the company as new polyurethane Product Manager a the start of 2019.
Geffken is responsible for the further strategic development of the polyurethane segment in Europe. Trained as a commercial chemist, his first professional experience was in project management in the paints and coatings industry at an industrial coatings manufacturer in Northern Germany. In 2010, Geffken started to work at Biesterfeld Spezialchemie as a Product Manager for coatings and paint additives. In 2014, he became an Area Sales Manager, responsible for supporting the CASE market sales area in Northwestern Germany. Working in this position, he was able to gather extensive technical expertise in polyurethane, its uses and the specific trends affecting its market, said Biesterfeld.
Bär graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Hamburg, Germany, in 2009. After three years on the scientific staff at the “Institut für Technische und Makromolekulare Chemie” in Hamburg, he spent six and a half years with a globally active manufacturer of seals, sealing systems and bonding systems, working as the Area Sales Manager for Northern Germany, Denmark and the United Kingdom. His professional career has given him a detailed knowledge of the products involved in polyurethane foam and sealing systems, and the applications in which they are used, said Biesterfeld.
