Bridgestone: Shuichi Ishibashi designated new CEO
The board of directors of Bridgestone Corporation has approved the proposal to appoint Shuichi Ishibashi as new CEO and successor of Masaaki Tsuya in December 2019. The change in the global CEO position is subject to approval at the board of directors meeting to be held after the company’s annual shareholder meeting in March 2020.
Shuichi Ishibashi joined Bridgestone in 1977. He has great experience of all the tire and diversified products businesses in the USA and Japan. After 2012, he has developed new business models globally for the solution business and the original equipment business. He also broadened his responsibilities which include strategy planning, technology, quality management and corporate administration. Masahiro Higashi will succeed Shuichi Ishibashi as Vice Chair and Representative Executive Officer.
