Take-up and winding system for round rods and flexible tubes
To complete the extrusion process on a laboratory scale, the Duisburg-based German company Brabender GmbH & Co. KG is now offering a winding system for round rods and hoses – the Brabender Winder.
The device can be included as downstream equipment in every extrusion process and winds round rods or flexible tubes from different kinds of materials, e.g., elastomers, TPE, and thermoplastics, on bobbins. According to Brabender, the device is compatible with different types of extrusion lines, regardless of its manufacturer. By means of an oscillating unit, the extrudate can be winded homogeneously. The possibility of adjusting the tensile force between take-off and the oscillation unit ensures an optimum result of the winding process. In addition, the gap between take-off and oscillating unit can be adjusted. After the winding process, the bobbin with the extrudate can be taken off and further processed or stored. Hence, it is applied for example in product development, production or production simulation as well as in quality control and has particularly been proven in the production of filaments for 3D printing, said the company. The device comes with a modular and compact design with an adjustable belt or drum pull off and storage space for different types of bobbins.
