Hennecke-OMS announced that it has signed a new contract with Ballytherm UK Ltd. for the supply of a high-speed lamination line to produce polyisocyanurate panels with flexible facings. According to the manufacturer, the line has a speed of 45 m/min, with future potential of up to 70 m/min.
The new plant is located in Herefordshire, UK, in a 257,000 square foot facility (~ 23,800 m2) on a 15 acre site (~ 60,000 m2). The plant is a complete line for the production of PU or PIR insulation panels using flexible substrata. It is composed of the continuous foaming line which includes a 38 m double belt conveyor and foaming/mixing/distribution units for the polyurethane foam inside the two flexible facings; the cross cutting unit for cutting the panels at the desired length, the panel cooling section; and the stacking and packing section for the final products.
The entire plant in a fully automatic cycle and is controlled by a series of electric control panels based on an industrial Siemens S7 PLC and with relevant interface operator panels. Installation of the new line will commence in October 2020 and commissioning is planned for Q2 2021. With a production capacity of approximately 1.2 million m3 per annum, the new line provides Ballytherm with significant opportunity for future growth in the UK market, said Hennecke-OMS.
