Evonik acquires hanse chemie Group

In March Evonik closed a purchase agreement to acquire the hanse chemie Group. The acquisition includes hanse chemie AG and nanoresins AG and enables Evonik to enter additional markets for speciality applications in silicone chemistry. Both parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The hanse chemie Group produces components and raw materials for the manufacture of sealants and adhesives, molding and casting compounds, for example. The silicate-based nanomaterials and other specialties by nanoresins are used in highly scratch-resistant coatings, adhesives, fiber composites, and embedding materials.
