OMS supplies continuous panel line to BMS

Bayer MaterialsScience has selected the Italian OMS Group to supply a new “pilot plant” for installation in BMS’ research and development facility in Leverkusen, Germany. According to OMS Group, the new contract was awarded against stiff competition from the industry’s major suppliers and reinforces the company's position as supplier of plant and machinery for the continuous panel market.

The new plant will have a total length in excess of 70 m and will be capable of processing formulations for both profiled metal and flexible substrate panels. The line will include flexible paper decoilers, a roll forming machine for profiled metal product, a multi-component metering group, double belt conveyor, cross cut saw, a panel cooling line, and an automatic stacking line.

OMS Group Commercial Director Eraldo Greco said, "This decision by Bayer Material Science in favour of OMS Group is a validation of all the efforts the Group has made over the past 10 years to be at the leading edge of continuous plant technology".

"Over the past few years we have supplied complete turnkey plants to the principal industry players world-wide and we have developed many innovative, dedicated technical solutions to meet the continuously changing developments in materials and production technologies", he continued. "It now seems our efforts in the fields of high speed flexible faced and conventional metal, wood and gypsum faced composite panels has been recognised by the world leader in the polyurethanes supply industry".
