Desma USA, Inc. in Hebron, KY, will be holding an Open House on 8 – 12 October 2012. The 2012 Rubber Expo will also be held during the same week, 9 – 11 October 2012 in Cincinnati, OH, USA, at the Duke Energy Convention Center. The Open House, only 15 minutes from the Expo, will feature machinery in the demonstration lab including the new 968.400 Benchmark S3. Some equipment will be producing rubber parts and other machines will showcase modern technologies unique to Desma.

The event will include tours of the domestic mould shop that features several new milling centres for mould and cold runner production. The North American Mold Shop Manager will be on hand to discuss Desma tooling. Also on display will be equipment from the Desma Machine Reconditioning Department. This new area of customer service is an economical alternative to upgrade existing Desma equipment.

The highlight of the event is a technical workshop on 10 October 2012 starting at 5:00 PM titled “Automated Elastomer Molding Cells – The importance of compounding, tooling, processes and equipment to maximize throughput and minimize labor.”

Desma has selected a panel of industry professionals to impart the importance of each discipline towards the goal of streamlining the rubber moulding process. In addition to the speakers, a team of experts will be on hand to answer questions. The technical workshop will commence with an outdoor social programme on the premises.
