n this paper we will revisit and update a presentation originally given at the 168th Rubber Division, American Chemical Society Technical Meeting and Expo in November 2005 in Pittsburg, PA.

In the past three years much has happened in the commodity markets including the zinc oxide market we are focusing on today. We are all aware of the rise in metal prices, industry organisational changes, the continuing influence of Chinese production and consumption and the rise in energy prices.
