50th babyplast for geobra Brandstätter

Since February 2002 geobra Brandstätter (”Playmobil“) uses small injection moulding machines from babyplast (Christmann Kunststofftechnik GmbH, Kierspe, Germany).

The small 62.5 kN machines replace today the previously used 200 kN machines of other manufacturers at the Playmobil production sites in Dietenhofen and Malta. End of July 2010 geobra Brandstätter‘s longtime technical director Robert Benker took over the 50th machine from babyplast.

The introduction of the energy efficient small injection moulding machines equipped with effective Ewikon hot runner technology in 2002 at the Playmobil production sites had a multitude of positive effects, like quick mould and colour change, short cycle times and doubling of output.

Benker said that Playmobil is continuing its growth course and announced the production of new moulds in the company‘s own mould shop. In 2010 geobra Brandstätter invests EUR 56 million for the refurbishment and capacity increases at its production sites of both brands Playmobil (toys) and Lechuza (plant containers).
