New European TPE Market and Technology Study
From Patrick Ellis comes a new edition of his European TPE market study. According to Ellis the European market for thermoplastic elastomers has been 649,000 tonnes in 2010. It is believed to have grown by 2.6% in 2011, to reach 666,100 tonnes and if no major catastrophe occurs, will reach 687,700 tonnes in 2012, a growth rate of 3.2%. The global market for thermoplastic elastomers is claimed to grow from between 5 and 6% over the next few years, but this growth includes the Asian companies who are now seriously dominating this market. However, the lower TPE market growth that Europe is set to experience is still far ahead of the GNP growth predicted for any European country. To maintain even this modest growth, all participants in this market must be prepared to go the extra mile to achieve their goals, says the author.
