BPA-free TPEs for overmolding applications

 

 

This provides a material solution for those customers looking for BPA-free materials for overmolding applications and increases their speed to market by eliminating testing time. The TPEs allow design flexibility and enhance product performance by contributing slip resistance for safety, soft feel for comfort, and ergonomics and sealing for functionality and ease of use.

 

Four grades of Versaflex TPE – OM3060, OM9-801N, OM1060 and OM1040 – and two grades of Versollan TPE – OM1255 and RU2204 – were tested for adhesive bonding to a variety of grades of Tritan copolyester. Some tests included the effects of exposure to an automatic dishwasher, boiling water, and thermal cycling on bond integrity.
