Bad news can be good news

von Dr. Gupta Verlag

It is just a question of point of view. I learned that from an uncle of mine a couple of years ago when his factory in Paradeep Port, Orissa was destroyed to the ground by a cyclone.

When I tried to offer him my condolences he stopped me by saying: “Come on … That’s good news. It gives me the opportunity to build a new more modern factory now.”

So let us have a look at some bad news and try to find the good point.

Bad news: Climate change happens

Heat waves in some areas and cold snaps in other areas will force house owners to build their homes with better insulation. That’s good news for PU raw material suppliers, PU panel producers, PU panel machinery producers and the spray foaming industry.

Bad news: Rising energy costs

High energy costs are of course a threat but the good news is that it will also lead to more and better insulation. Furthermore lightweight construction in the automotive industry to save gas opens big opportunities for the

PU industry.

Bad news: High raw material prices

High raw material prices are a problem for the processors but the good news is that it gives the machine builders some excellent opportunity to develop more energy efficient machines which produce less waste and sell them to the PU processors.

Last bad news for today

My bad golf playing (proven at the tournament during the PU TECH in Greater Noida)

I think I lost at least one golf ball in each water obstacle (and Jaypee Greens has a lot of water obstacles).

So… what are the good news?

Golf ball producers can sell a lot of new golf balls to me and that will also make the raw material suppliers happy as they can sell more raw material.

My personal good news is, that I can easily survive in a desert. Just give me a club and a golf ball. I’ll find water for sure…

Best Regards
