API has announced a partnership with Ems-Grivory. The cooperation aims at developing sustainable eyewear solutions with a lower environmental impact. Engineers from both companies will collaborate on combining adhesion modified soft-touch TPEs from API with the harder Ems Grilamid TR or Grilamid BTR materials, thereby fully complying with the VDI 2019 standard. Both companies will work on the development of specific bio-solutions, both on a fossil and renewable basis.

On 20 October 2017 the automotive supplier Boge Rubber & Plastics officially opened its plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. At this location, the company will produce parts from all product lines which include chassis and powertrain suspension mounts for vibration technology chassis and powertrain as well as in the field of plastics components for the automotive industry. Daimler and the VW Group are among the first customers. Orders amounting to double-digit millions in annual sales have already been received up to the year 2029. Start of series deliveries will be in summer 2018. The production hall covers approximately 5,700 m², of which 1,200 m² are provided for plastics and 3,600 m² for rubber-metal technology. Over the next few years, approximately 150 to 200 employees will be employed here in the medium term, depending on the production starts and the product mix. Aurora Plastics, LLC, a PVC specialist, announced on 10 October 2017 the acquisition of compounder S&E Specialty Polymers of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, USA.
