At Gummiwerk Kraiburg, Dr. Frieder Vielsack has taken over as head of the Research and Development department effective September 1, 2021. In his new position, he is responsible for leading the department with a focus on further expanding Gummiwerk Kraiburg's strength in developing customer-specific material solutions and innovative products for new fields of application.

Rubber Division, ACS annually honors outstanding elastomer experts with the prestigious Science & Technology Awards. Among these awards is the Chemistry of Thermoplastic Elastomers Award.

Sergej Lazovic has been appointed as Managing Director of Biesterfeld Spezialchemie GmbH alongside Peter Wilkes with effect from 1 October 2021. Together, the two Managing Directors will be responsible for the ongoing strategic development of the Biesterfeld subsidiary's global business.

During its members meeting of 2 June 2021, the Pultrusion Technology Association (EPTA) elected a new board. All EPTA board members who stood for re-election have been confirmed again.

Mathias Miedreich has been appointed by Umicore’s Supervisory Board to succeed Marc Grynberg as CEO of the group in the fourth quarter of 2021. Marc Grynberg and Mathias Miedreich will work together to ensure an optimal onboarding and a smooth transition of leadership.

On 25 August 2021, LyondellBasell announced that Chief Executive Officer Bhavesh V. (Bob) Patel intends to retire from the company as of 31 December 2021. Patel will continue to lead the company until that time and will ensure a smooth and orderly transition for his successor. Upon his departure, he will also resign from the company's Board of Directors. The Board of Directors has established a sub-committee that will oversee the search for a new CEO and will consider both internal and external candidates.

Plastics and additives distributor Biesterfeld Plastic has appointed Steen Jensen as the new General Manager of Scandinavian subsidiary Biesterfeld Nordic AB. In September 2021 Jensen will succeed Eric Lundén, who is moving on from the company after six successful years.

Pilar Castellanos Pineda has been appointed as Managing Director of IMCD Colombia, effective 25 May 2021. With 30 years of experience as a business owner in the chemical distribution industry, she takes on the leadership position in Colombia and will be responsible for continuing the growth trajectory of both IMCD Colombia and Siliconas y Químicos, an IMCD company.
