Faurecia to buy Plastal Spain

Faurecia has announced plans to acquire the Spanish supplier of plastic exterior parts for the automotive industry Plastal S. A.

The acquisition, which adds to that of Plastal Germany finalised in March, will secure the production for automotive exteriors customers, in particular Ford, Seat, Volkswagen and Iveco. Financial details were not disclosed.

Plastal is present in Spain with four plants located in Barcelona, Tudela, Valencia, and Valladolid, which employ a staff of some 700 people. In 2009, Plastal Spain delivered 1.2 million bumpers and generated sales of EUR 135 million. European antitrust authorities have already approved the acquisition.
