Obituary Laurent Millier †
Laurent Millier, a TPE expert employed by PolyOne GLS Thermoplastic Elastomers at its facility in Gaggenau, Germany, passed away on 29 April 2014 following a traffic accident. “We are extremely saddened by this tragic loss. Laurent was an exceptional and talented professional, an industry expert, and an even more wonderful and kind person. We will miss him immensely,” said Holger Kronimus, vice president Europe and general manager, Specialty Engineered Materials, Europe for PolyOne.
Bayer AG CEO to stand down at the end of 2016
Bayer AG announced its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Marijn Dekkers, 56, is to step down at the end of 2016 for family reasons, and the group's Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Werner Baumann, 51, will take on the role of Chief Strategy and Portfolio Officer (CSPO) effective 1 October 2014 to ensure continuity in key aspects of the company’s future development.
Patterson becomes CEO of PolyOne
PolyOne announced on 15 May that coincident with its 2014 annual meeting of shareholders, Robert M. Patterson has become president and CEO, PolyOne Corporation, and was elected to the company’s Board of Directors.
Cooper Standard names Miziolek Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Zachert appointed as new CEO of Lanxess
Lanxess AG has announced that the Supervisory Board of the company has resolved to end by mutual agreement the appointment of Axel C. Heitmann as Member and Chairman of the Board of Management, effective 28 February 2014. Matthias Zachert has been appointed as his successor. Zachert, former CFO of Lanxess, and currently CFO of Merck KGaA in Darmstadt, Germany, will take over as Chairman of the Board of Management on 1 April 2014.
Sternberg to lead Dupont’s Global Automotive R+D
Jeffrey Sternberg, Ph.D., has been named DuPont global automotive technology director. In this role, he is charged to bring the breadth of DuPont advanced materials as well as renewably sourced materials and fuels to the auto industry. Sternberg joined DuPont in 1988 as a synthesis chemist for DuPont Crop Protection. He held several roles in this business before advancing to management. In 2006, he joined Central Research + Development, Materials Science and Engineering, where he led a group focused on developing materials solutions for photovoltaics that improve conversion efficiency, lower cost and extend system lifetime.
Akhtar new Managing Director of BASF Pakistan
Effective 1 February 2014, Faisal Akhtar has been appointed as Managing Director of BASF Pakistan (Private) Limited and Managing Director of BASF Chemicals & Polymers Pakistan (Private) Limited. He succeeds Qazi-Sajid Ali, who will retire effective 31 March 2014.
Lubben named new President of Reverdia
Effective 1 January 2014, Marcel Lubben has been appointed as President of Reverdia, a joint venture between Royal DSM and Roquette Frères. Reporting to the Reverdia board, Lubben will be responsible for developing and managing the sustainable succinic acid manufacturer into the next phase of growth.

Christopher Cooper joins Teknor Apex
Christopher Cooper has joined Teknor Apex as a market manager in the Thermoplastic Elastomer Division. He will be responsible for TPE sales and business development in the North American transportation market.
SPE to honor achievements of industry leaders at Antec 2013
Four individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the plastics industry will be honored by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) at Antec, which will take place from 22 – 24 April 2013 at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, OH, USA. The awards will be presented as part of the society’s Annual Awards Program at the SPE Celebrates Banquet on 21 April 2013.

William J. Murray has been appointed as new President of Teknor Apex. He succeeds Jonathan D. Fain, who remains CEO and becomes chairman of the board.
Edwards succeeds McElya as CEO of Cooper Standard
Jeffrey S. Edwards, 50, succeeds James McElya as President and CEO of Cooper Standard, Novi, MI, USA. McElya has retired as an executive of the company as of 15 October 2012.
Murphy new VP of R & D and CIO at PolyOne
Dr. Christopher J. Murphy has joined PolyOne as Vice President, Research and Development, and Chief Innovation Officer (CIO). He succeeds Dr. Cecil Chappelow, who is retiring after an accomplished 38-year career in the speciality chemicals industry.
Fouletier new Chairman of the Board of Perstorp
After more than 12 years with Perstorp, first as President and CEO and most recently as Chairman of the Board, Lennart Holm has decided to leave his position with the company. Fabrice Fouletier of PAI partners, who has been a Board Member of Perstorp since 2006, will succeed Holm, effective from 25 October 2012.

Charles Page is the new Global Marketing Director for GLS Thermoplastic Elastomers, PolyOne Corporation, based in Gaggenau, Germany. He has been part of PolyOne since 2003, but started his career as a formulator at AlphaGary Corporation in England, twelve years ago.
New appointments at Teknor Apex
Jeffrey E. Dickerhoof has joined Teknor Apex as a Senior Market Manager, responsible for TPE sales and business development in the North American transportation market. He entered the plastics and elastomers industry in 1998 when he joined Advanced Elastomer Systems.
