Merquinsa: New “wave of TPU specialities”
Under the motto "Everything You Can Imagine", Merquinsa will unveil a new line of TPUs based upon sustainable raw materials. New Pearlthane Silk silicone-based grades with FDA and EU compliance will be launched to address needs for more functionalities, such as low coefficient of friction and a silky touch for a wide range of elastomer applications. Pearlthane HFFR TPUs have been developed to meet the growing demand from the automotive and electronic industries for halogen-free flame retardant elastomers.
Merquinsa's Pearlthane ECO is already being used in shoes, cars, and electronics. Furthermore, the company will present its aliphatic, non-staining, non-yellowing Pearlthane 91Txx series. These new scratch resistant and low gloss TPU grades will be featured for premium aesthetics in areas such as automotive interiors and electronics. Merquinsa also plans to introduce special low melting point Pearlbond and Pearlcoat TPUs with fast crystallisation and tack properties for extrusion applications.
