Call for Speakers: PDA Annual Meeting 2012

The PDA Program Planning Committee is currently reviewing potential presentations for the upcoming 2012 Annual Meeting. Presentations will be given on 27 – 29 March 2012.

The committee is looking for a variety of business/technical presentations for a 45 minute time slot for general session, formulator track, applicator track, and demo presentations. The following topics are only a suggestion of ideas – the program is by no means limited to these topics.

Possible general session presentations:

LEED certification
Thick film elastomeric coatings
Specifying coatings: From an architect/engineer/specifier on what they do to specify coatings
New applications for polyurea: Illustrate with pictures and explain them and the new application
Job gone wrong: How to prepare for arbitration/mediation/litigation regarding a case involving design flaws, material failures or workmanship related issues. How do you handle a lien on real property or funds and what to do when a vendor files bankruptcy?
Safety: Language barriers or age & accidents or confined space entry programs/permits or spotlights
Profitability: Contract verbiage and word tone: How to bid a job reviewing various contracts and identifying clauses you want to avoid. In addition, recognizing key words and how they may be perceived in a different light than you intended causing consternation.
Effective selling: Do you really know your customer? Identify effective internal tools and controls resulting in the accumulation of corporate data needed to negotiate work.

There will be separate tracks for formulator presentations as well as applicators.
