Repi opens new manufacturing plant in the USA

Repi says the 4,000 m² (43,057 ft²) production facility is now operative and is the second step of its expansion plan started in 2004, when a lab and a small blending unit was started in an industrial complex in Charlotte, NC.

Company sales activity in the NAFTA regions dates back to 1993, when product distribution was provided by PAT Products, located in Bangor, ME, which is, according to Repi, still an important arm of the sales organisation in the USA. At that time, company sales were concentrated in the footwear market. Now the portfolio includes special products for all polyurethane applications, e. g. rigid and flexible foams, elastomers, coatings, spray foams, composites, etc.

North America currently represents 15 % of the company business and a growth of 12 % is expected when the US operations will run at full capacity next year. The plant capacity is 3,000 t/y, black and colours.

At the next CPI 2012 Polyurethanes Technical Conference in Atlanta, GA, Repi will officially present the new plant and the complete product line for the PU market.
