ARMENIA: Rosneft, Nairit discuss cooperation in chloroprene rubber production

Rosneft and Nairit Plant met recently to discuss Rosneft’s possible participation in producing chloroprene rubber at Nairit’s plant in Yerevan, Armenia.

Jacobs Consultancy last month conducted a technical and environmental audit of butadiene-based chloroprene production at the Nairit facility.

“We take a favorable view of our cooperation with Armenian partners,” commented Rosneft President Igor Sechin. “We are now expecting final results of the Nairit audit and outcome of negotiations with the Armenian Government about tax regime in order to decide whether we should join the project,” he added, without disclosing any specific details on the plan.

Rosneft has also reached an agreement with its partner Pirelli for a Pirelli delegation to visit the Nairit plant this autumn to analyze investment opportunities, evaluate and determine possible opportunities for cooperation.
