Emery Oleochemicals acquires InfiGreen polyols technology

Emery Oleochemicals, headquartered in Malaysia, has announced its recent acquisition of InfiChem Polymers' InfiGreen recycled polyols technology to extend further its portfolio of sustainable polyol solutions for use in rigid and flexible polyurethane foams. Financial details were not disclosed.

InfiChem Polymers' InfiGreen recycled polyols were established by Ibrahim Sendijarevic and were soon adopted by Chrysler in its moulded seat foam for the latest Jeep model. The Emery Oleochemicals range now comprises of Emerox polyols, made from renewable resources, and InfiGreen polyols, which are derived from recycled foams. The addition of these polyols should enhanced value and improved sustainability using the InfiGreen technology, says the company. These polyols are the mainstay of the newly created business unit Eco-Friendly Polyols (EP). The business expansion into Eco-Friendly Polyols is supported by a USD 50 million investment at Emery’s facility in Cincinnati, OH, USA, previously announced in October 2012.
