LuV acquires majority in Performance Compounding

In September 2014, the Hamburg-based German company Lehmann & Voss & Co. KG (LuV) acquired the majority shareholding in the US company Performance Compounding. Financial details were not disclosed. LuV says it is further expanding its position in the US market with this investment and is continuing its strategy of internationalisation.

At the beginning of 2013, LuV founded the sales company Lehvoss North America. Now the second key step in the systematic development of the US market is taking place, says LuV.

“The involvement in Performance Compounding is an ideal strategic addition to achieve the growth targets for our Luvocom high-performance compounds in the USA,” explained Dr. Alexander Sunder, Global Director of the Business Unit. The producer, headquartered in Pawcatuck, CT, USA, also develops and produces compounds. Close cooperation has linked both companies for two years now.

Performance Compounding will continue operating under the name well-known in the USA. The long-standing Managing Director, Dr. Lefteris Valsamis, will now function as General Manager of the new company. His partner Alfred Bartkiewicz has reached retirement age and will be leaving the company.

Even prior to the takeover, Performance Compounding had been working to the quality standards of LuV. Together, the two companies will be supplying tailor-made solutions and will continue developing the range for the US market. In addition to advice and support on site, customers will receive individual plastic compounds with short delivery times.
