2014 Ciri Expo makes its debut in Qingdao, China

Under the theme of “Smart Rubber”, the first China International Rubber Industry Expo (CIRI Expo) – comprising of the China (Qingdao) Tires Show and the China (Qingdao) Rubber Technology Show, as well as various forums and a procurement conference – took place from 15 – 18 October 2014 in Qingdao, China.

The event was jointly organised by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF), the China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA), and Qingdao Rubber Valley Company.
On 15 October 2014, the opening ceremony was held at the Qingdao International Convention Center (QICC).

Senior government officials, leaders of international associations, and entrepreneurs – both domestic and from abroad, including officials from CPCIF, CRIA, the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC), the Thai-Chinese Cultural & Relationship Council, the Qingdao Municipal Government, as well as representatives from media and enterprises worldwide, attended the ceremony.

According to the organiser, 200 exhibitors and 1,000 enterprises participated in the expo, including amongst others Lanxess, ExxonMobil, Goodyear, Versalis, Sri Trang Agro-Industry Plc., Showa, Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Sailun, and Mesnac. The scope of exhibited products at the trade shows included, e. g. tyres and ancillary products, rubber raw materials and additives, rubber and tyre equipment and machinery, as well as rubber products.

Parallel forums and summits, including the “World Rubber Forum 2014”, the “World Rubber in Focus – Silk Road Cooperation Dialogue”, the “Sino-Germany Smart Manufacturing Summit”, the “Global Rubber Industry Supply Chain Innovation Forum and Procurement Conference”, and the “International Arbitration Forum”, as well as the “Gold Rubber Award” Ceremony completed the programme.
