PCC SE acquires a polyurethanes system house in Poland

With the acquisition of Prodex System Sp. z o.o. in Warsaw, PCC SE reinforces its activities in Central and Eastern Europe – in countries such as Poland, the Czech Republic, the Ukraine, the Baltic states and the CIS countries. The business activities of Prodex focus primarily on rigid and semi-rigid polyurethane foam systems for thermal and acoustic insulation.

"This expansion reflects the growing importance of the emerging economies in Central and Eastern Europe and further strengthens our commitment to customers in this region," explained Charles Ritchie, General Manager of PCC's Polyurethanes business. "Throughout the economic downturn we have continued to invest in our advanced polyether polyol capacities at PCC Rokita in Brzeg Dolny and remain committed to develop our polyurethane business in these growth markets. This acquisition will broaden our already extensive technology portfolio, allowing PCC Polyurethanes to further enhance its innovative tailored solution offerings".

According to PCC, its chemicals division occupies market-leading positions in Central Europe in selected product segments. The products are developed and manufactured at PCC´s production sites in Poland – PCC Rokita S.A. and PCC Synteza S.A. – and at the laboratories of US-based PCC Chemax. Internationally, the PCC group, headquartered in Duisburg, Germany, is organised into three major group divisions; Chemicals, Energy, and Logistics. PCC today employs approximately 2,200 staff with its some 70 subsidiaries and affiliates in 13 countries.
