Polymer-carbon nanotube composites – Preparation, properties and applications
Edited by Tony McNally, Queen’s University Belfast, UK, and Petra Pötschke, Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden, Germany, the book reviews the preparation and processing of composites of thermoplastics with carbon nanotubes (CNT), covering in-situ polymerisation, melt processing and CNT surface treatment, as well as elastomer and thermoset CNT composites. It also focuses on properties and characterisation, the quantification of CNT dispersion using microscopy techniques, and on topics as diverse as thermal degradation of polymer-CNT composites, the use of rheology, Raman spectroscopy, and multi-scale modelling to study polymer-CNT composites and toxicity. Furthermore, it describes the applications of polymer-CNT composites (e. g. use in fibres and cables, bioengineering applications).
