Weber & Schaer: Expanded thermoplastic portfolio
Weber & Schaer Hall 6 Stand E16
The Hamburg–based trading house Weber & Schaer will exhibit together with its subsidiaries Polymer Service PSG GmbH and Braun Battenberg Mahlwerke GmbH.
As co-exhibitors, the partners Sidiac (Polyblends) and Uju New Materials Co. Ltd. (sulfone polymers) will be present as well. W&S said it will provide comprehensive information about natural rubber and many synthetic rubber grades (BR, CPE, EPDM, FKM, HSR, IIR, IR, NBR, SBR) for visitors at the stand. Vulcanisers, modifiers for thermoplastics, antioxidants, and hydrocarbon resins complement the comprehensive offering. Braun Battenberg presents its portfolio of aramid fiber pulp grades, pulverised rubber and thermosetting plastics. PSG will present its new range of high-performance polymers like PSU, PES, PPSU, PEEK, and semi-aromatic polyamides (PA6T/6). In the field of thermoplastics elastomers the focus will be on Innoprene TPE-Vs from Kumho Polychem and the Keyflex TPC-ET series of LG Chem.
Weber & Schaer acquires majority stake in PSG
In August 2016 Weber & Schaer announced that it will take over the plastics distributor Polymer Service PSG GmbH, Buchholz, Germany, in two stages by the end of 2018. PSG, founded in 1989 in Hamburg, is specialised in the distribution of thermoplastic elastomers, polyamides, colours, and additives. Weber & Schaer is thereby strengthening its position in the areas of thermoplastic raw materials and additives for the plastics industry. Financial details were not disclosed.
