IRAN: South Pars phases 15 & 16 on line
Iran has commissioned phases 15 and 16 of the South Pars gas field in Asaluyeh, increasing the country’s refined gas production to a total of about 650-million cu m/d from 600-million cu m/d, according to Iranian press reports.
These two phases are expected to yield 1.5-million t/y of liquefied petroleum gas and 1-million t/y of ethane.
Kavian Petrochemical Co.’s 2-million-t/y ethylene facility in Asaluyeh is dependent on ethane from phases 15 and 16.
