IRAN: Christof interested in Iranian PC projects
High-ranking officials of Christof Group, an Austrian company involved in plant construction and technology transfer, among other areas, recently met with counterparts of Iran’s National Petrochemical Co. to discuss cooperation in energy and petrochemical projects in Iran, the Mehr News Agency reported.
With the lifting of sanctions, “Austrian companies will seek active roles in Iran’s petrochemical industry and we would not imagine any restrictions whatsoever to the cooperation,” commented Christof management member Stefan Christof. He specifically cited the transfer of technology to Iran.
“We have excellent links and accords with other prestigious European companies, and Christof Group Austria could function [as] an effective link between Iran and those companies,” he added.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced that it plans to expand its Shinshiro plant (in Shinshiro City, Aichi Prefecture) to increase production capacity for high-performance tyres (18” diameter and larger). The company plans to begin construction of a new line in May 2016 and start production in June 2017, gradually increasing output until reaching full capacity by April 2018. Total investment will be round JPY 3.7 billion. The capacity expansion will increase the Shinshiro plant’s annual production capacity for high-performance tyres (18 inch diameter and larger) by about 20 % from the current level.
