UBE Industries expands nylon production in Spain

The Japanese company UBE Industries announced that it is investing in the plant of its subsidiary UBE Corporation Europe S. A. Unipersonal (UCE) in Castellón, Spain.

According to the company, UCE’s production capacity of diverse copolymers and nylons with low and high viscosity will increase by 40,000 t/y to a total volume of 70,000 t/y untill 2018. Amongst others, the products will be used for technical applications, such as in the automotive and food packaging sectors as well as for manufacturing monofilaments, fishing nets, and technical components.

A completely separate division in the field of compound manufacturing will also be created in Castellón and begin its production in August 2017. 50 new jobs will be created in Spain – so that overall more than 500 employees will be working for UBE in Europe. There has been an increase of 25 % in the number of employees alone in the last five years, the company said.
