TURKEY: Sasa awards contract to Thyssenkrupp to build two world-scale PET plants
Sasa Polyester Sanayi has awarded a contract to Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions' Uhde Inventa-Fischer subsidiary to build two new world-scale polyethylene terephthalate (PET) facilities in Adana, Turkey.
The first plant will have a production capacity of 380,000 t/y of PET for low-viscosity applications, while the second facility will use Uhde's proprietary MTR technology to produce 216,000 t/y of PET for the production of bottles.
A schedule for the project was not available.
Uhde's scope of work includes basic and detailed engineering, delivery of all necessary components, and technical services for erection, pre-commissioning and commissioning supervision.
