FRANCE: Ineos Styrolution to Invest in new ABS line at its Wingles polystyrene production site

Ineos Styrolution announced plans for a "significant" investment in the production of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) at its site in Wingles, France, which has so far focused on polystyrene (PS) production. One of the three existing PS lines at the site will be converted into a production line for ABS with a planned capacity of around 50,000 t/y. The ABS line is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2020.

"Three ABS production sites in Europe—Wingles, Antwerp and Cologne—with an increased ABS production capacity give us increased flexibility and allow us to grow with our customers," noted Rob Buntinx, president of Europe, Middle East and Africa at Ineos. The ABS production line at Wingles will help the company meet the growing customer demand in Europe for ABS products.
