KUWAIT: KIPIC selects HPS as automation contractor for integrated refinery complex

Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) has been chosen by Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Co. (KIPIC) as the main automation contractor for its new Petrochemical Refinery Integration Project (PRIZe) in Kuwait. The project, which will be the "first" integrated refining and petrochemicals complex in Kuwait, will be developed as part of the Al-Zour complex, HPS noted.

Once complete, it will have the capacity to produce 330,000 t/y of polymer grade propylene using refinery by-product streams. Under the contract, HPS will provide KIPIC with frontend engineering design and advanced process control technology. A schedule for the project was not given.
