Degussa to supply BASF amine catalysts

Degussa AG, Düsseldorf, Germany, is to take over worldwide sales and technical service activities for triethylene diamine (TEDA) polyurethane foam catalysts produced by BASF AG, Ludwigshafen, Germany.

Degussa AG, Düsseldorf, Germany, is to take over worldwide sales and technical service activities for triethylene diamine (TEDA) polyurethane foam catalysts produced by BASF AG, Ludwigshafen, Germany. The Tegoamin branded products will be supplied by Degussa’s Goldschmidt polyurethane additives business, based in Essen, Germany, the companies announced 28 July. According to Degussa, the agreement will strengthen Goldschmidt’s PUR product portfolio, which includes tin and amine catalysts, stabilisers, mould release agents, colour pastes, crosslinkers, antioxidants and antistatic agents BASF started up a new TEDA plant at its site in Antwerp, Belgium in April 2005. The company also manufactures PUR catalysts at sites in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Geismar/Louisiana, USA. Dr. Walter Gramlich, head of BASF’s Intermediates division: said “Degussa brings an excellent sales network and comprehensive services into our cooperation. We are the first TEDA producer in Europe and work with the most innovative manufacturing process.”
