BASF Coatings: Schöttke named new Managing Director
Mathias Schöttke has been appointed Managing Director and Labour Director of BASF Coatings GmbH, headquartered in Münster, Germany, effective from 1 June 2021. At the same time, he will assume global responsibility for Human Resources in BASF's Coatings division. In both functions, he succeeds Sören Bauermann, who has taken on a new position within the BASF Group as Senior Vice President.
Schöttke studied business administration at the University of Passau and Aston Business School, Birmingham, UK. In 2000, he began his career at BASF and has since worked in various functions in Human Resources in Germany and Singapore. Most recently, he was Vice President for the Corporate HR Leadership & Development unit in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

The Chemours Company announced a series of leadership transitions effective 1 July 2021. Mark Newman, the company’s current Chief Operating Officer, will become President and Chief Executive Officer of Chemours, succeeding Mark Vergnano, who has served as President and CEO since the company’s founding in 2015. Vergnano will be retiring from the company and assume the position of non-executive Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors for the balance of 2021, assuring an effective transition of leadership to Newman.
